October 2021

A collection of new works were wrapped up this week and sent on their way across the Chanel for Jake's latest solo show at the Mougins Museum of Classical Art, France. Situated in the Alpes-Maritimes Department of France, the museum has a stunning collection of both ancient and modern artworks and artefacts.

Jake's new body of work, which will go on show alongside the museum's permanent collection, is titled Vanitas. A celebration and reflection on the work of past masters, for these works Jake has drawn inspiration from the great Still Lives of the Golden Age, with an exhibition featuring both oils and drawings. For further details about the works, please click here.

If you are local to the area, or plan to be travelling nearby, the exhibition will open on 15th October and close on 31 January 2022. A private view will take place at the MACM on 14th October. Please do get in contact via email for more details if you wish to attend.

Later the same month, another of Jake's paintings, made around the same time as the Vanitas works, will make an even longer journey to Taiwan.

Dutch Still Life, after Rachel Ruysch and Jan Davidsz de Heem will be exhibited at Art Teipai, where Jake's work will be shown by Unit London and Asia Art Centre.

Never one to stand still, Jake is already mid-way through a new collection of works, with some exciting plans ahead for 2022. We look forward to sharing more details of these in due course.
